If you are currently due one of our packs (all year round packs, 50 plug packs, etc) Sarah is doing those at home whilst I continue picking orders down the nursery so we get more parcels out so they will be coming out to you shortly.

We have shipped a record 106 orders this week so we are making progress clearing them.

Please bare In mind we are only a small family company and although we have taken on 4 staff to help us this year they are all only part time we just do not have the resources to anything other than this we are getting through the orders as fast as we can and are picking and packing Sunday-Thursday even in hot polytunnels in the mid day sun (not a nice place to be) so do please bare with us we are doing all we can but we cannot possibly do everyone's at once and we will not tolerate people being abusive to us or our staff on the phone. The weather has played havoc with us this year and has meant all the orders needing to go out at once there is nothing we could have done to avoid this the weather just held everything back until this last week. Your plants will be fully hardened off and raring to go when you receive them.

We have just negotiated to be the sole supplier of plants for a company called Earthbox they will be supplying our plants for their Earthbox kits in the right quantities for their planting plans.

We are also planting a number of boxes up for them for their stands at Chelsea, Tatton Park and Hampton Court flower shows.

This system is much more than just a planter

How The EarthBox Works

The Gradient System

Acting on the laws of nature, the EarthBox facilitates the movement of nutrients from areas of high concentration to areas of low concentration. When the EarthBox is set up, the fertiliser strip is placed on top of the potting compost-creating an area of high nutrient concentration. At this time, the potting compost around the roots of the growing plant has no fertiliser. When water is added, the moist potting compost slowly conducts the diluted nutrients down the concentration gradient to the plant roots, which absorb optimal amounts of nutrients at any given time.

Water and Fertiliser Conservation

The EarthBox's plastic cover drastically reduces the water evaporation rate and returns condensed water vapour to the potting mix. As the plants draw water from the reservoir, they consume only what they need to stay healthy. Plants cannot be over-watered or under-watered if the reservoir is kept full. The plastic cover also prevents fertiliser from being diluted or washed away by rain.

In addition...

Years of research have yielded the optimal number and arrangement of each type of vegetable, fruit, herb or flower for healthy growing.
Castors enable home gardeners to:
  1. move the EarthBox outside during the day and inside at night - extending the growing season by planting earlier and harvesting later and..
  2.  move the EarthBox around the patio or deck to increase or decrease the amount of time spent in the sun.
Plastic inhibits the growth of disease-causing mould, as well as the invasion of plant-eating pests.
